Awakening by Angela Hunt (Aloud to my wife)
The Parables: Jewish Tradition and Christian Interpretation for a little light reading for myself.

Zsu-Zsu, didn't I "advertise" that a while back? I never had the chance to get it, but I do remember reading the review about it. I think it pointed out that the authors were Christian "commedians" and a talk show host or something.

Not sure, you may have done, I don't think I saw it though.
It is published by an American company (took ages to arrive when I'd ordered it from the bookshop). We studied it a bit in one of my 'Religion and Sex' lectures/seminars, and I thought it was interesting so I bought it to read all the way through.
It was written by an atheist though I think. My R&S lecturer said that it was written as an angry riposte to the Christian community which had shunned so many teenagers who'd come out as gay and led them to commit suicide.

There's a dedication to a man who runs a helpline for young people coming out as gay or bisexual at the beginning and a praise of him and his work.

I'm going to read it once I've watched the movie, I've been told that's the right order to do it.

Books Always First! angry

The book is usually the better of the two though, when watching the film second it usually results in complaints about all the good bits that were missing. Doing it the other way round results in additional good bits rather than less.  nod Usually. There are some exceptions.
