Nominate 5 in each category then I'll arrange some polls or something in Jan. S'what normally happens, right?

Nope. What normally happens is I create a list because of my slightly OTT thread rule making shtick and then some people come into  the thread and maybe start reading the list or skim it then press "back" or close the window. So, why break tradition?

Here's the list. Feel free to add your own or leave.

Film:
1. Rise of the Planet of the Apes
2. Too Big To Fail
3. Attack the Block
4. X-Men: First Class
5. Insidious

Not really seen many of this years films. Probably only the Apes film would be in the top 10 I've watched this year.  dunno

TV drama programme:
1. Game of Thrones
2. The Walking Dead
3. True Blood
4. Being Human
5. The Cape  shades

Depending on the final episode, Black Mirror may get added to this. The second episode was fucking amazing.  eyepop The first was great, but the second was one of the best things I've seen this year. I hope the third episode isn't total pap. Dexter was alright just a bit flat. Haven't finished the second season of The Killing yet but what I have seen has been rather good. Hmmm. Yes.

Comedy programme:
1. Modern Family
2. Stewart Lee's Comedy Vehicle
3. Outnumbered
4. How TV Ruined Your Life
5. Life's Too Short

Wilfred, Sirens, Fresh Meat and a load of panel shows miss out.. or sutin. whatever

Most disappointing tv shows:
1. Misfits
2. Falling Skies
3. Ringer
4. American Horror Story
5. Terra Nova

Misfits not so much because it's been bad, because it hasn't really been terrible since the first episode of this series, but because it was so good before and now it's just a bit gimmicky. The Borgias was a bit disappointing but I don't know what I was expecting from it tbh. Terra Nova has improved but after 10 episodes it's still not fantastic.

Books:
1. I, Partridge: We Need To Talk About Alan by a huge fucking mile.
2. there can be no #2 just to emphasise how good I Partridge is.
3. that Mock The Week book  dunno
4. The Price of Paradise Part 1 (The Broken World) by Andy Logan
5. Breakdown at Tiffany's (and other stories) by David Braga

CD's:
1. Fleet Foxes - Helplessness Blues
2. Half Man Half Biscuit - 90 Bisodol (Crimond)
3. REM - Collapse Into Now
4. Foo Fighters - Wasting Light
5. The Vaccines - What Did You Expect From The Vaccines?

Noah And The Whale - Last Night on Earth has to miss out because although The Vaccines wasn't great, it was marginally better than this.

Film:
I'm struggling to remember much of this year's cinema. Planet of the Apes, X-men and Thor were pretty good Transformers managed to blow a lot of stuff up in an entertaining way, but Nothing really jumped out and grabbed me this year  dunno I also missed a lot of films because I had no money for a good chunk of the year. I am going to see Hugo this week which is supposed to be great, and Girl with the Dragon Tattoo I'm expecting to be a last minute piece of awesome, and Mission Impossible will probably be a good action movie.

In no particular order so far:

1. Black Swan
2. Source Code
3. The Lincoln Lawyer
4. The King's Speech
5....  dunno

TV Drama

Also INPO

1. Game Of Thrones
2. True Blood
3. Supernatural
4. Doctor Who
5.

Hmm Struggling to fill the 5th spot here too. Again there were a lot of things I watched, House, Fringe, Bones, NCIS, Ringer and so on, but again not a lot that stood out as being particularly noteworthy. I hear the 3rd episode of Black Mirror is terrible, but I haven't watched it yet.

TV Comedy

1. QI
2....  dunno

Nothing springs to mind. I'll think about it maybe something will come back to me.

Disappointments:

1. Captain America
2. Glee
3. Falling Skies
4...  dunno

Books:

To my knowledge I haven't read any books that were published this year  dunno

Games:

1. Arkham City
2. Dead Space 2
3. Gears of War 3

Games. Good one. If only I'd played more of them...

The third episode was disappointing indeed. There was just one point to be made stretched over an hour in a not very entertaining way. Wouldn't say it was terrible, only in comparison to the previous 2, but I guess that's the nature of these sorts of programmes. Fingers crossed it gets a full series next year.
